Bio Paroxysm

Imagine a world in which pain is fluid. A state where neurons are transferable, where upon physical contact, the sparks of indefinite discomfort would be exchanged within two human beings by command of mind, a blue tooth of sorts.

There would exist pain traffickers- those who sell themselves, or others (by sponging up distress), to the elitist society, who would of course be willing to pay unsurmountable amounts to rid themselves of mortal pain. There would be everlasting health prosperity to those who can afford such - igniting the world even more so unbalanced and unfair, because they would only keep going, keep working. There might also be health convicts, those who pass on their pain without consent, rendering another useless. But on the other plate of the scale, there would be those who are willing to partake in others' wounds voluntarily. There would be gentle hearted creatures who would travel the world to share and heal. There would be those who would give up half of their lives in the name of love, in the name of humanity and sacrifice. The world would be constructed of an amalgamation of naive people who has never shared an ounce of ache with anyone, alongside experienced souls who has felt the pain of a thousand people, and the rest, varying degrees in between. So in this parallel, what would medical records be like? How random would deaths be, and would there be immortals? Would third world countries exist, would technology be more advanced? - thoughts, 19th May.
