The air is thick, but light. I feel as if I'm swimming, or floating, or wading in a pool of my own fancies; clusters of parallel pasts and desired futures. Through the shimmering, pearly smoke I see silhouettes of your mother, smiling; I feel the grasp of your warm hands, fingers laced tight around mine; I'm able to trace the shadow of your features and sigh deliriously with this blessing. I dream to stay in the heaven of your comfort, always, at my uttermost peace.
It is at this point that I wake up with a shaky start, and my eyes blink to reality.
