Treasures / Wrecks

So what of those forgotten dreams? What of those ambitions and desires that you've coveted and sought? What of those ideals in your mind, those prizes you've fought for, for so long? Or those things that come in physical caskets, those tangible embodiment of all the fancies you'd ever yearned to have? And what if upon finding these treasures, realise that, they were never meant to be yours?

And then how do you stop, resist, wanting something? How do you pour energy and strength into fighting a concept that's been wrought in your bones, in your being? How do you make sense of something that was never made to be understood? Desist keeping a phenomenal entity, catching fire, avoiding at all possible costs and failing hope?

Can't control free will, can't control innermost thoughts and feelings, but you can control, what you physically do about it.

Sadly, pathetically, compromises were never my strongest suit.
