I'm relaying the story of a woman who had ambitions to become a writer. She made a deal with the universe to devote herself on becoming a literary figure, and set her sights to pursue her life's passion. She wrote and wrote and wrote, and for a decade, brought her manuscripts everywhere - only to be rejected over and over again. It came to a point where she crumbled and cried back - why was it so hard for her to succeed? In the face of these challenges, she decided to rest, and went off on travels.
Somewhere along her journey, she had a realisation. First and foremost, the universe did not owe her anything. In fact, it had aided her wish. A deal was made for her to passionately write - and had she not written? Hundreds of pages, millions of words, stories galore. She had been granted the intellect, the energy, time to spend crafting words. She was indeed a literary figure in her own right. What she did not take into account was that the universe was not liable for the monetary and social aspect of her passion. All her works had been from her heart, as intended, but to take care of her finances and recognition - that was a responsibility onto herself.
That's the thing about talent. It's a gift from the universe, that just grows and grows within you, in proportion to the heart and energy your pour into it. But don't for a second think that just because you are brilliant and gifted - that these are the sole gifts to carry you through your worldly life. They are there to add value to your personal growth - but methods of harnessing it is your decision. You have a brain to understand that: feeding yourself, having a home, clothes, transportation, and means - is your own civil obligation. There is only so much that the universe can aid or grant your drives. You have to step up and accept that you have the capability to live and provide for yourself, with all you've been given.
