The Yard Stick

"Grief isn't linear. The process of dealing with heartbreak and loss isn't linear. There will be days where you have to force yourself to feel the rawness, and there will be days where you are completely fine. There will be relapses and roundabouts. It's a process that's an individual path, and shouldn't be calculated by a strategic stick."

"That being said - so is love, isn't it? So is the process of falling and being in love."

"What do you mean?"

"That it isn't linear. That it'll be rife with second guesses and instances of regret, or moments of clarity and confidence. At times you could crave each other's company in such an inseparable way; and down the line, have times where you prefer to not associate with them at all, and keep to yourself. No relationship is a smooth cruise. Dealing with a force as strong as love should also not be measured by conventional means."
