You have to catch them before they stray too far.
Threads unravel pretty easily. Leave a strand untethered and it has the ability to loosen the rest of the material. That's what it feels like right now. A strip of fabric with frayed ends, each threatening to unfold and dissolve the integrity of the whole. Each already dancing in the wind. You realise the whole structure is pretty fragile, pretty frail. You have to catch them before they stray too far. Then what do you do? Do you burn the edges, render them obsolete. Do you find a way to tuck them back into their patterns, to housekeep them back into their previous order. Do you collect the loose strings and weave them anew.
You have to catch them before they stray too far.
I am not okay. But I will get through this.
