I found a place where the caged birds sing

I found a place where the caged bird sings

Where his feathers are free and his limbs become wings

I found a place where the leashed lion roars

Where his name’s in his mane and his force's in his paws

I found a place where the butterflies go

When their wings are clipped and the colours don’t show

I found a place where the stars are dim

Where the sun seldom shines and the air feels thin

But the bird will sing and the lion will roar

They will share sounds to a choir for more

The butterfly will rest and the stars will die

The days will past and the nights will fly

And I will find silver, I will find gold

As I am paper, as I am water

I will never fold
