How I See / How Others See

There is a subtle quirk that comes with various social parties. You can know all you can about a certain way of life, take instance the high flying lawyers, society ladies, quiet kids in libraries, various extroverts and introverts - but only as an outsider. The idealistic view of these classes may not be too far off the mark, but at times in reality, the shift could be quite different. This phenomenon, one I've mulled over for quite some time, has been poking me enormously lately.

What I mean to say is, there are tiny details within certain groups of people,  a tiny shared trade secret that snuggles subconsciously, that are exclusive only to the insiders. It's these details that an outsider can only know of, earn, by being one of them. Like a room with a glass wall, and as much as you can see the other side, as much as you can imagine it to be, there will be qualities within the other side that you would not realise  without being there.

It answers the silent question, often asked incredulously by a raised eye brow and a grim face:
my god darling, didn't you know that?
