Every semester, studio 07 of bachelor of science in architecture organizes what is known as Archifest. It spans from 3 days to two weekends, incorporating activities like seminars, bazaars, workshop sessions, film making competitions, theater, dance and music performances, as well as arts and sculpture construction. Over the past years archifest in my faculty has come to be one of the most highlighted events in the calendar.
And this semester, was my studio's turn. Taking notes from the past events (Prologi, Motion, Plug In, 00, Expression, Akar) we decided to restructure the hierarchy and approached it in a different manner - through the concept of collaboration. Studio based activities were set aside and programs were based through inter studio interactions. We reached out beyond the faculty and university too, collaborating with Hope Factory, Epic Homes, PitaHati, and Feruni, amongst others.
Seven semesters later I can honestly be happy and thankful for reaching this point, and having organized archifest with a pretty awesome studio. From the beautiful settings during Malam Padu Jiwa, being serenaded by violins and good food; from the interesting Tea & Talk session; to the hyped up havoc that was workshop archiday; and the crown on top, a really good performance night that ended with a huge cast of rain and smelly junior zombies chasing us.
Studio Kreinova. July 2009, September 2012 and counting ;)
First time performing my violin in front of a crowd in a band of violins, a bamboo flute, a guitar, a bongo drum, and 3 sets of angklong and it felt wonderful :) Check out the photos on facebook here; tumblr here; twitter here. More updates are coming!
