Anchors

"His existence anchors me. Everything I do is hinged upon his development and happiness. He is the sole purpose of everything, for now."

"It's detrimental to anchor yourself to one entity. The core, obviously, has to be an anchor to yourself. A fulfilled, multifaceted version of your truest self. From there, to form anchors to other attachments in life: your vocation, interests, and the people around you. The ultimate deal is to have a relationship of anchors, where others are reciprocating their anchor to you too. In this way you are not unmoored, you do not operate adrift. You are sailing with an armada of meaning."
